Michael Belsky

Seminal in the career of cellist Michael Belsky (b. 1976) were the diploma with high distinction at the Moscow Conservatory and the Gnessin Music Academy, where he was also part of the quartet class of Prof. V. Berlinsky who is cellist of the famous “Borodin Quartet”.

Belsky continued his studies at the cello class of Prof. G. Mantel and P. Wolf in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. He also attended various master classes of cellists such as M. Rostropovitch, N. Gutman, M. Sanderling, and D. Graf.

His orchestra experience includes engagements as cellist at J. Frantz' “Philharmonie der Nationen” symphony orchestra and various orchestras conducted by M. Rostropovich, V. Gergiev, R. Barschai and other well-known conductors.

Additionally, he participated at the “Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival” and the “Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” and toured with orchestras in Europe, Japan, South Korea and the United States of America.
